"MacFoil (expanded black lead)" has excellent heat resistance, very low stress relaxation, and can maintain sealing performance over a long period. By combining with metals, its handling properties are improved, and it is widely used as gaskets for steam lines and other industrial applications. However, while its sealing performance is very good, it adheres too well to flanges, causing maintenance to become a concern.
